Throughout the year, VSA arts - Grand Traverse Area holds special events to increase awareness of the organization and raise funds for future programming.

Art Tour – debuts each spring- is a year-long traveling art show
The tour features works from artists with disabilities from the region. The traveling art show is displayed at various businesses and locations in the area.

H’arts & Arts – held in mid-February
An evening of food, wine, and music at Left Foot Winery at Grand Traverse Commons. The fundraising event features wine-tasting, food prepared by local culinary experts, music by local artists, as well as a silent auction for jewelry and other fine gifts.  Please click here for more information.

ArtsSense
Over 200 special education and general eduation children experience the arts together in a two-day celebration of hands-on learning and creativity at the Dennos Museum Center on the campus of Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.

Festival of Trees
Sponsored in collaboration with and during the Zonta Club’s annual Festival of Trees event, this special day invites all students and adults with disabilities to enjoy a tour of the beautifully decorated holiday trees while creating a variety of holiday crafts to take home.

National Cherry Festival Special Needs Day
VSA arts provides adaptive activities designed to meet the special needs of hundreds of youngsters, teens and adults with disabilities. Also, VSA arts participates in the Jr. Royal Parade riding the traditional Amon’s Trolley with several KOB puppet characters as special guests.

TSO Family concerts
Working in partnership with the TSO, VSA arts provides a sign language interpreter, Ms. Jaci Richer. Jaci engages children and adults with interactive signing movements relating to the concert series and music programming.

Special Projects

Holiday Card Sale
The annual fundraiser features holiday cards created by area artists with disabilities.
